How to Renew Your .ph Domain Before It Expires

Renewing a domain sounds simple until you forget, and the website goes offline.

Customers cannot reach you, emails bounce, and in the worst case, someone else registers your domain name while it is sitting expired.

I have tested dozens of domain renewal flows across registrars for the past few years.

I have also noticed that the process that causes the most problems is always the same.

People either do not know when to renew, or they wait too long after it expires.

Today, I will show you exactly how to renew your .ph domain before it expires.

Can I Renew My Domain Name Before It Expires?

Yes, and that is the best time to do it.

Most registrars, including  here at Truehost, allow you to renew your .ph domain at any point before the expiry date.

Renewing early extends your registration past its current expiry date, so you never lose time you’ve already paid for.

The steps take less than five minutes. Here is how to we do it at Truehost:

  • Log in to your Truehost PH account and go to your dashboard
  • Click on Domains or My Domains to see all registered domains
  • Find your .ph Domain and look for the Renew option next to it
  • Choose how many years you want to renew for (1, 2, 5, or 10 years)
  • Review the total, remove any add-ons you do not need, then proceed to payment
  • Complete payment in Philippine Pesos and save your confirmation email
  • Your new expiry date updates in the dashboard right away once payment goes through.

How Often Do You Have to Renew Your Domain Name?

.ph domains are registered for a set period, not permanently.

At Truehost, you can register or renew for 1, 2, 5, or 10 years at a time.

Most domain owners renew yearly, but choosing a longer period means fewer reminders and fewer chances of accidental lapsing.

Renewing for multiple years at the same price per year is the easiest way to protect a domain you rely on for your business.

How Much Does It Cost to Renew Your Domain Name?

Renewal pricing at Truehost is in Philippine Pesos, with no foreign exchange fees.

Here are the current renewal prices for the most common .ph extensions:

Domain ExtensionAnnual Renewal (PHP)Registration Period Options
.ph₱3,422.001, 2, 5, or 10 years
.com.ph₱3,422.001, 2, 5, or 10 years
.net.ph₱3,422.001, 2, 5, or 10 years
.org.ph₱3,422.001, 2, 5, or 10 years
.com₱690.001, 2, 5, or 10 years

Before paying, check your renewal cart for any automatically included add-ons, such as WHOIS privacy or DNS services.

Remove anything you do not need to keep the cost at the base renewal rate.

What Happens When a Domain Name Is Not Renewed?

A .ph domain does not disappear the moment it expires.

It goes through stages, and each stage gives you less time and costs more to fix.

StageDurationWhat This Means
Activate your registration periodDomain works normallyRenew anytime
Grace Period55 days after expiryThe Domain may go offline. Renew at standard price with no extra fee.
Pending DeleteAfter the grace period ends, the Domain is deletedAnyone can register it. Recovery is not possible.

The .ph domains have a 55-day grace period, but there is no redemption period.

Once the grace period ends, the Domain is moved straight to pending delete and released for anyone to register.

There is no expensive recovery window like with .com domains.

This makes renewing before expiry especially important for .ph domains.

With .com, you get a redemption window. With .ph, once the grace period closes, the Domain is gone.

How to Renew an Expired Domain

If your .ph domain has already expired but is still within the 55-day grace period, you can still recover it at the normal renewal price.  You need to act quickly because the clock is running.

  • Log in to your Truehost PH account.
  • Go to Domains and find your expired Domain. It will likely show as Expired or Renew Now.
  • Click Renew and select a registration period.
  • Complete payment in PHP
  • Your Domain will be reactivated once payment is confirmed. Website and email services have resumed, but DNS may take a few hours to propagate fully.

If you cannot find your expired Domain in your Truehost dashboard, contact support immediately.

Do not wait. Every day inside the grace period is a day closer to permanent deletion.

Do You Have to Pay to Renew Your Domain Name? Turn On Auto-Renew Instead

Yes, renewal requires payment each period.

The best way to handle it is to switch on auto-renewal so the registrar handles it for you before the Domain ever expires.

To enable auto-renewal at Truehost:

  • Log in and go to your domain management dashboard
  • Select your .ph domain and open its settings
  • Switch auto-renewal to ON
  • Make sure your payment method on file is current and has enough funds

Some providers will attempt the renewal a few days before your expiry date, not on the exact day.

This gives enough time to fix any payment issues before the domain lapses.

Keep your card or payment details up to date. A failed auto-renewal because of an expired card is one of the most common reasons domains accidentally expire.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How early can I renew my.ph Domain?

You can renew at any time while your Domain is still active. Many owners renew months in advance. Renewing early extends from your current expiry date, so no time is wasted.

  1. Will my website go offline if my Domain expires?

Yes. Once a .ph domain expires, it typically goes offline within a short period. Your hosting files are still safe on the server, but visitors cannot reach the site until the Domain is renewed and DNS propagates again.

  1. Can someone take my Domain immediately after it expires?

Not immediately. There is a 55-day grace period for .ph domains during which the Domain is protected. Once that period ends, the Domain is released, and anyone can register it on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. Why is my renewal price higher than what I paid when I registered?

Most registrars offer lower introductory prices for the first year. Renewal prices return to the standard rate. Always check the renewal cost before registering a domain so there are no surprises at year’s end.

  1. How long does domain renewal take?

Renewal at Truehost PH is processed instantly after payment. Your expiry date updates in the dashboard right away. If the Domain has already expired, DNS reactivation can take up to a few hours to fully propagate.
